How often your computer is turned on, when Carbonite is able to back up, how often the file is saved, and when the file is saved are all factors that will determine how many versions are available to restore at any time.
Carbonite is designed to keep one daily version of the file for each day of the past week; one weekly version for each of the previous three weeks; and one monthly version for each of the previous two months that the file has been backed up.
Carbonite Safe for PCs keeps up to 12 versions of your changed files.
Carbonite will also keep at least the three most recent versions of a file regardless of age.
Additionally, frequently changed files are backed up once every 24 hours if your computer is on and they can be backed up. - when running continuous backup.
A file can be set for backup immediately at any time if it is important to you.
If a file is deleted it can be retrieved for 30 days, too!
